The Diamond Country Club hosts the Austrian Lyoness Open, a popular event on the European Tour played in June. It is located on the outskirts of Austria's capital city Vienna and the centerpiece of this resort is undoubtedly the 7,393 yards (6,761 metres), par 72 Diamond Course which was opened in 2002 and designed by English architect Jeremy Pern. The course provides a challenge to golfers of all level and strict course management is required to avoid the water during these 18 unforgettable holes.

Another main feature of this wonderful resort is the newly built 'Boathouse' where golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and golf course whilst enjoying breakfast.

The resort also offers 2 additional layouts, the 18 hole Country Course and the 9-hole Park Course both providing an attractive layout for leisurely rounds of golf.

The Diamond Course

The Diamond Course was designed by Englishman Jeremy Pern, after opening in 2002 it has very quickly established itself as one of the best courses in Austria. With plenty of water to focus the mind and a distance that stretches out 7,393 yards (Championship tees), this course will challenge the best of golfers.

After playing the first hole, with water running down the left side of the fairway, you could be forgiven for wondering what all the fuss is about regarding the water hazards here. Then you will discover that 8 of the remaining 12 holes feature lakes and ponds which threaten tee shots, approach shots and at some holes, both!

The two par 3 holes on the back nine, the 191 yards 11th and the 159 yards 15th, are played to island greens where anything wayward off the tee will sink in the drink! The 457 yard, par 4, closing hole has water on the left and out of bounds on the right of the fairway, so accuracy is called for right to the very last shot on the Diamond course.

Since 2010, the Austrian Lyoness Open has been staged on the Diamond Course at the Diamond Country Club, China's Wu Ashun won the event in 2016 and previous winners include Englishman Chris Wood, Mikael Lundberg, Joost Luiten and Austria's own Bernd Wiesberger.

The Country Course

The complex also boasts the Country Course, an attractive layout designed for more leisurely play that has recently been extended to an 18-hole course.

The Park Course

A family friendly 9-hole course which provides a relaxing round close to nature. Embedded in the unique landscape of lower Austria, the course offers the same perfect conditions you would expect to find at a European Tour venue, but is easier to play.
